MADISON, Wis. – Senior Danny Masrin (Palatine, Ill./Jakarta International School) is tied for 21st and the Bradley men's golf team is 12th in the team standings after the first round at the Badger Invitational Sunday.

Masrin shot a two-over 74 Sunday in the opening round of the 54-hole Badger Invitational, which is being held at the par-72 University Ridge Golf Course and he is tied for 21st in the 79-person field.  He closed the day two shots out of a tie for 11th.

Sophomore Bobby Jacobs (Valparaiso, Ind./Valparaiso) is three shots behind Masrin in a tie for 45th after carding a 77 and senior Seth Trolia (Mahomet, Ill./Seymour) shot a 78 to finish Sunday's action tied for 52nd overall.  Trolia's first-round 78 was the 82nd sub-80 round of his career, moving him into a tie for fourth with Coby Thompson for fourth in school history.

Junior Lyle Burns (Mahomet, Ill./Seymour/Parkland C.C.) fired an 80 to finish the day tied for 62nd, while freshman Daniel Lensing (Spring Park, Minn./Orono) closed Sunday's opening round one shot back of Burns in a tie for 66th at 81.

Sam Houston State turned in the low round of the day with a five-under par 283 to start the three-day tournament and has a four-shot advantage on second-place Marquette (287) to start Monday's second round.  Toledo is third in the standings at 292 with USC-Upstate and Kansas tied for fourth overall at 294. 

Iowa State is 13 shots behind Sam Houston State in sixth (296) and one shot ahead of tournament-host Wisconsin (7th – 297).  Rutgers closed the day in eighth with a score of 301 and Bowling Green follows in ninth (305).  Illinois State and Charleston Southern are tied for 10th with first-round 306's, while Bradley is 12th overall at 309.  Drake completes the field in 13th at 311.

The second round of the Badger Invitational is scheduled to tee off Tuesday at 9 a.m.
