MADISON, Wis. – Senior Danny Masrin (Palatine, Ill./Jakarta International School) fired a three-over par 75 Monday and is tied for 22nd, while the Bradley men's golf team is 13th in the team standings heading into Tuesday's final round at the Badger Invitational.
Masrin followed up his first round 74 from Sunday with a three-over 75 at the par-72 University Ridge Golf Course to close the day tied for 22nd in the field at 149. Masrin is one shot back of a three-way tie for 19th and three shots out of the top 10.
Senior Seth Trolia (Mahomet, Ill./Seymour) was two shots better on the second day of play and is tied for 46th overall at 154 after he fired a 76. The second-round 76 moved Trolia into a tie with Warren Molitor for third in school history with 83 career sub-80 rounds. Trolia is seven sub-80 rounds from tying Andy Mickelson for second in school history.
Junior Lyle Burns (Mahomet, Ill./Seymour/Parkland C.C.) matched Trolia with a 76 Monday and is two shots back in a tie for 54th at 156. Sophomore Bobby Jacobs (Valparaiso, Ind./Valparaiso) is 71st in the field at 163, shooting an 86, while freshman Daniel Lensing (Spring Park, Minn./Orono) carded an 83 and is tied for 72nd (164) to round out the team scoring for the Braves.
Sam Houston State turned in the lowest round of the day with a five-over 293 and has a 10-shot lead on the field with a 36-hole total of 576. Marquette is second at 586 and USC-Upstate sits in third (587). Kansas and Toledo finished Monday's action tied for fourth at 588 with Iowa State following in sixth (590).
Tournament-host Wisconsin is seventh at 601 and the Badgers are three shots better than eighth-place Charleston Southern (604). Rutgers chases in ninth (609) and Illinois State completes the top 10 at 612. Bowling Green is five shots ahead of the Braves in 11th (614) and Drake is three shots up on Bradley in 12th (617). The Braves shot a 310 Monday and are 13th overall at 619.
The final round of the Badger Invitational is scheduled to tee off Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.
