PEORIA, Ill. -- Former Bradley women's basketball standout Katie Yohn (Elgin, Ill./St. Edward) recently signed a professional contract with Rhein-Main Baskets of the German-DBBL.
Yohn, who played with former teammate Leah Kassing with the St. Louis Surge of the Women's Blue Chip Basketball League last year, signed in December with the Rhein-Main Baskets and made her debut Jan. 4. Sunday, she collected 10 points, six rebounds, two assists and three steals against Saarlouis.
Based out of Langen, Germany, near Frankfurt, Germany, the Rhein-Main Baskets' season runs from late September through mid-March. Yohn is one of four former NCAA Division I players on the Rhein-Main roster.
A 2013 Bradley graduate, Yohn was the first player in Missouri Valley Conference history with 1,300 points, 200 three-pointers, 450 rebounds, 250 assists, 80 blocks and 175 steals. She was a Second-Team All-MVC pick as a senior in addition to a First-Team Valley Scholar-Athlete after twice earning honorable mention all-league honors earlier in her career. Yohn finished is eighth in career scoring at Bradley and is one of eight individuals to lead the team in scoring twice.
Yohn is the third former Bradley women's basketball player to sign a contract with a European Professional team in the last three years, joining Kassing (Poland) and MacKenzie Westcott (England).
