PEORIA, Ill. -- Junior Fantasia Vine (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton North) matched a season-best with 14 points and dished out a career-high nine assists to help pace three Braves in double figures, but a 15-0 second-half run helped Missouri State take control of a tie game as the Lady Bears topped the Bradley women's basketball team 78-64 Sunday afternoon at Renaissance Coliseum.

Missouri State led 32-25 after a sloppy first half which saw the teams combine for 22 fouls and18 turnovers with both squads shooting under 33 percent in the first 20 minutes.

After shooting 32 percent in the first half, Bradley started the second half by making 3-of-4 shots in the first 90 seconds to quickly trim the Lady Bears lead to one point (32-31) and force an early Missouri State timeout.  The Braves went on to connect on five of their first six shots of the second half and pulled even at 36-36 with 16:30 to play on a Madison Dellamuth (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Prairie) layup.

Five Bradley turnovers during a three minute stretch fueled a 15-0 Missouri State run, however, as the Lady Bears built a 51-36 advantage nearing the 13-minute mark of the second half.  Missouri State was 5-for-5 from the field during the spurt and led 58-44 midway through the period.

Freshman Anneke Schlueter (Ulm, Germany/Max-Weber-Schule) pulled Bradley within 12 points (53-41) with a three-pointer at the 12:48 mark, but the Braves made just three hoops over the next seven minutes and were unable to cut into the Missouri State lead.  The Lady Bears earned their second straight road win with a 78-64 victory.

Bradley shot 48.6 percent in the second half and 41.7 percent for the game for the team's best shooting performance since the Dec. 6 victory against Missouri.  The Braves committed 31 turnovers, however, and had just 18 free throws attempts in the setback.

Senior Michelle Young (Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury) scored a game-high 17 points on 8-of-14 shooting and also tied a career-best with seven steals.  Young moved up two spots on Bradley's career scoring list into 20th and now has 933 career points.

Schlueter added 16 points off the bench, while Vine had 14 points and a career-high nine assists to help lead the Braves.  Vine's nine assists were the most by a Bradley player since Kelsey Budd had nine assists against Western Illinois on Dec. 21, 2011 and she was the first Brave with at least 14 points, six rebounds and nine or more assists since Libby Magnuson (14 pts, six reb. & 10 ast) vs. Creighton on Dec. 31, 2005.

Freshman Tamya Sims (Milwaukee, Wis./Oak Creek) snagged a season-best nine rebounds for the second straight game to lead Bradley on the glass and also tied a season-high with three blocks.  Sophomore Whitney Tinjum (Stacy, Minn./Chisago Lakes/Washington State) added eight points and eight boards.

Kenzie Williams led four Missouri State players in double figures with 13 points in 24 minutes of action.  Hillary Chvatal added 12 points, two blocks and three steals, while Tyonna Snow and Liza Fruendt each had 11 points for the Lady Bears.

Bradley opens a three-game MVC road swing next Sunday with a 2 p.m. game at Loyola.
