ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Junior defensive midfielder Andrew Kovacevic (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) has been named one of 10 State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Good Neighbor Award Fall recipients according to an announcement by the league office Thursday. 

A finance major with a 3.96 cumulative grade point average, Kovacevic has started six of the nine matches he has appeared in this season.  He has helped the Bradley Soccer team to a 7-7 overall record and the Braves enter the final two MVC matches of the regular season alone atop the league standings with a perfect 4-0 record. 

In addition to his athletic accomplishments, Kovacevic was a First-Team MVC Scholar-Athlete last year and has been named to the Bradley Athletic Director's Honor Roll each of his six semesters.  He has been named to the MVC Honor Roll each year and is a two-time recipient of the MVC Commissioner's Academic Excellence Award. 

Kovacevic serves as the treasurer of the Mortar Board National Honor Society and he is also a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma International Honor Society.  His volunteer efforts include working with Engineers without Borders along with the Christian Youth Center.  He has also donated his time to the Union Boys and Girls Club of Chicago in addition to Loaves and Fishes Soup Kitchen.  Kovacevic has assisted with Special Olympics and also volunteered with Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

In order to be eligible for the award, the student-athlete must be in good academic standing, demonstrate good citizenship through good sportsmanship and significant community service, and participate in a sport, during the season of recognition.  The Valley will recognize 10 student-athletes three times annually (fall, winter, spring), for a total of 30 honorees.
