PEORIA, Ill. -- Junior forward Leti Lerma (Muscatine, Iowa/Muscatine) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week after leading the Bradley women's basketball team in scoring and rebounding to highlight last week's home win against Kent State.

Lerma scored 11 of her team-best 19 points in the third quarter to help the Braves pull away from Kent State in a 68-60 victory last Tuesday in the final home non-conference game of the year.  She matched a season-best with 19 points on 8-for-13 shooting and also grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.  Lerma, who also had two assists and one block in 32 minutes, scored in double figures for the fourth time in five outings.  She is averaging 14.0 points, 9.2 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 2.2 steals per game over the last five games.  A psychology major, Lerma owns a 3.01 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week.  The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Lerma and the Bradley women's basketball team open a three-game road swing Saturday with a 5 p.m. contest at 24th-ranked Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa.
