PEORIA, Ill. -- Junior guard Leti Lerma (Muscatine, Iowa/Muscatine) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week after averaging 17.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, 1.0 assist and 4.5 steals in a pair of home games last week.

Lerma opened the week with 15 points, seven rebounds and four steals in 25 minutes off the bench against Western Michigan to mark the first 15-point, 7-rebound, 4-steal game for a Bradley reserve since Genny Mueller on Jan. 4, 2003.  Lerma, who shot 56 percent from the field in the two outings, followed it up with season highs of 19 points on 9-of-14 shooting, 13 boards and a career-high five steals in a home victory against Eureka.  She was the first Brave with 19 points, 13 rebounds and five or more steals in a game since Eileen Yerkes on Nov. 25, 1991.  A psychology major, Lerma owns a 3.01 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week.  The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Lerma and the Bradley women's basketball team return to action tonight with a 7 p.m. game at Chicago State.
