SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Bradley turned in a solid defensive effort in the first half limiting Missouri State to 33 percent shooting, but second half turnovers and a 15-5 Missouri State run to open the second period helped the Lady Bears rally from a 24-21 halftime deficit to top the Braves 69-61.

Freshman Anneke Schlueter (Ulm, Germany/Max-Weber-Schule) scored a season-high 20 points on 7-of-9 shooting to lead Bradley and senior Michelle Young (Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury) scored her 1,000th-career point in the setback.

Missouri State made 5-of-9 shots to open the game and took a 13-6 lead less than six minutes into the contest, before Bradley turned up the defensive pressure.  Despite starters Whitney Tinjum (Stacy, Minn./Chisago Lakes/Washington State) and Leti Lerma (Muscatine, Iowa/Muscatine) limited in the first half due to foul trouble, the Braves held the Lady Bears without a field goal for a near nine-minute span and took a 17-13 lead with just under seven minutes left to play in the first half.

Bradley's 11 consecutive points opened a 15-2 spurt which put the Braves in front 21-15 with 3:40 left in the first half.  Missouri State made just 4-of-16 shot to close the period, while Bradley committed just seven turnovers in the opening 20 minutes.

Three straight Bradley turnovers to open the second half led to three consecutive Missouri State hoops and the Lady Bears grabbed a 27-24 lead in the opening 90 seconds of the period.  Missouri State had a 9-2 run to open the half, which later ballooned to 15-5 as the Braves found themselves trailing 36-29 less than five minutes into the half.

A Schlueter jumper with 12:24 to play pulled Bradley within five points, but a 13-1 MSU spurt over a three-minute stretch gave the Bears a 53-36 advantage with nine minutes to play.  Missouri State later stretched the lead to 21 points and the Bears held on to top the Braves 69-61.

Junior Fantasia Vine (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton North) joined Schlueter in double figures with 13 points.  Freshman Shareece Burrell (Des Moines, Iowa/East) provided a lift off the bench, collecting six of her season-best eight points and six of her season-high eight rebounds in the first half.

Missouri State opened the second half making 17-of-26 from the field and finished the period shooting 53 percent.  The Lady Bears forced 15 second-half turnovers and scored 22 points off those 15 turnovers in the final 20 minutes.

Kenzie Williams and Tyonna Snow combined to shoot 14-of-18 from the field and scored 36 points to go with seven assists and five steals.  Williams, who also scored her 1,000th-career point had 19 points on 7-of-9 from the field along with three assists one block and five steals.  Snow was also 7-for-9 and had 17 points, four assists and five steals to lead Missouri State.

Bradley returns to action Sunday, playing a 2 p.m. game at Wichita State.
