LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Bradley managed just four hits off New Mexico State pitchers, but the Braves drew a season-high 11 walks and scored nine runs in a 14-9 loss to the Aggies Sunday afternoon to conclude play at the Troy Cox Classic.

New Mexico State (5-5 overall) scored the first eight runs of the game, plating four runs in the first and adding four more runs in the second before Bradley was finally able to get on the scoreboard in the fourth.

Junior Kathryn Spenn (Williamsville, Ill./Williamsville) got things going for Bradley in the top of the fourth with a leadoff walk.  A hit batter and walk loaded the bases for junior Kendall Duffy (Naperville, Ill./Benet Academy) who drove in a pair with a single down the left field line.  The Braves added two more runs later in the inning when sophomore Kelly Kapp (Freeburg, Ill./Gibault Catholic) reached on an error as Bradley cut the New Mexico State in half at 8-4.

A solo homer to leadoff the New Mexico State half of the fourth opened a six-run frame for the Aggies.  Malina Padilla followed a pair of walks with a two-run triple and she came around to score on a Brennalyn Nakamura single.  Emma Adams capped the inning with a two-out, two-run single to push the New Mexico State lead to 14-4.

A five-run fifth inning for Bradley pulled the Braves within five at 14-9.  A single, walk and hit batter loaded the bases with no outs when Duffy reached on an error to drive in another run.  Senior Lexi Cremeens (Dix, Ill./Mount Vernon) knocked in a run with a single and another run crossed the plate when Kapp was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded all before the first out of the inning.  Senior Brittany Burgess (Utica, Ill./St. Bede) drew a bases loaded walk to plate the fourth run of the inning and it was 14-9 after freshman Maria Schroeder (Lake Zurich, Ill./Lake Zurich) drew a two-out, bases loaded walk to drive in another run.  The Braves, who left a total of 12 runners on base, left the bases loaded in the fifth and did not score again.

Starting pitcher Jaelen Hull (Clifton, Ill./Bishop McNamara) returned to the circle in the bottom of the fourth and pitched around a fifth inning walk and one-out single in the sixth to keep New Mexico State from adding any more insurance runs.

Bradley couldn't push another across, however, leaving runners at second and third in the sixth in addition to stranding a runner in the top of the seventh in the 14-9 loss.

Hull took the loss for Bradley to drop to 0-3 on the year.  Duffy was 1-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBI to help lead the Braves, while Kapp also drove in three runs in a 1-for-4 afternoon at the plate.

Karysta Donisthorpe earned the win for New Mexico State as she improved to 4-1 with the victory.  Six of New Mexico State's 12 hits went for extra bases, including three home runs.

Bradley returns to action Friday opening the Tennessee State Tiger Invitational in Nashville, Tenn., with a 11:15 a.m.  (CST) game against St. Bonaventure.
