Roadley Tied For Second; Women?s Golf 14th At Rio Verde

RIO VERDE, Ariz. – Junior Jenna Roadley (Winnipeg, Manitoba/Sturgeon Heights) is tied for second after shooting an even par and the Bradley women's golf team is 14th in the team standings following one round of play at the 13th annual Rio Verde Invitational.

Seton Hall's Erin McClure is the individual leader after 18 holes, firing a one-under 71 at the par-72 Rio Verde Country Club Friday afternoon.  Roadley, who was coming off a career-best round of 70 to open the spring schedule, finished the day tied for second one shot behind McClure at 72. 

Junior Danielle Lemek (Doniphan, Neb./Doniphan-Trumbull) fired her 22nd consecutive sub-80 round with a two-over 74 and is tied for 13th overall.  Freshman Ally Scaccia (Arlington Heights, Ill./Prospect) posted her 13th round in the 70's with a 76 to close the day tied for 33rd. 

Rounding out the team scoring for the Braves, freshman Abby Wellens (Cincinnati, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) and junior Allison Walsh (Mt. Prospect, Ill./Mt. Prospect) both shot 88's Friday and will enter Saturday's second round at the Rio Verde Invitational in a tie for 94th in the field.

Seton Hall shot 296 to lead the 18-team field after the opening round.  Ohio is three shots back in second at 299, while Toledo and Northern Illinois are tied for third at 301.  Wichita State is six shots off the lead in fifth (302), followed by Eastern Michigan and UMKC which are both tied for sixth (303).  Tournament-host Western Michigan and Northern Arizona closed Friday's action tied for eighth at 304 and Arkansas-Little Rock completes the top 10 at 305. 

Illinois State and Xavier will start the second round tied for 11th (307).  Missouri State is two shots ahead of Bradley in 13th (308) with the Braves following in 14th at 310.  Bradley has a one-shot edge on 15th-place Bowling Green (311) and the Braves are four shots better than Akron (16th – 314).  Ball State is 17th overall (318) and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi rounds out the field in 18th (330).

The final round of the Rio Verde Invitational is scheduled to tee off at 10 a.m. (CDT).
