PINEHURST, N.C. – Senior Seth Trolia (Mahomet, Ill./Seymour) tied the Bradley career record for sub-80 rounds with hit 93rd round in the 70's or better Sunday to tie for eighth in the individual standings and the Bradley men's golf team took sixth at Pinehurst Intercollegiate.

Trolia entered Sunday's final round at the par-71 Pinehurst No. 8 course in a tie with fellow senior Danny Masrin (Palatine, Ill./Jakarta International School) for 10th and used a five-over 76 Sunday to climb into a tie for eighth (229) in the final individual standings for his team-best third top-10 finish of the year.

The final round 76 was Trolia's 14th consecutive sub-80 round and moved him into a tie with Dave Wettlaufer (1981-85) for the most career rounds in the 70's or better in school history at 93.  Trolia finished three shots out of the top four.

Masrin had a streak of 30 consecutive sub-80 rounds snapped with an 80 Sunday afternoon as he tied for 16th overall 233.  The 30 straight rounds in the 70's or better, which dated back to last year, ranks second in school history behind Andy Mickelson's school mark of 44 set during the 2001-02 and 2002-03 seasons.  Masrin finished in the top 20 for a team-best fifth time in six tournament in 2014-15.

Junior Lyle Burns (Mahomet, Ill./Seymour/Parkland C.C.) had his best round of the tournament and matched Trolia for low honors on the squad Sunday with a five-over 76.  Burns was one shot behind Masrin in a tie 19th (234) to earn his fourth top-20 finish of the year.

Freshman Matthew Specht (Munster, Ind./Munster) also had his best round of the Pinehurst Intercollegiate in the final round with 78 to tie for 53rd overall (250).  Junior Garrett Cox (Mahomet, Ill./Seymour) completed the team scoring for the Braves in a tie for 59th at 256 after finishing out play with an 85.

Sophomore Bobby Jacobs (Valparaiso, Ind./Valparaiso) played as an individual and tied his lowest round of the spring with an 82 to tie Specht for 53rd overall (250).

Belmont ran away with the team title by 18 strokes, finishing with a 54-hole total of 900.  Marshall was second at 918 with William & Mary following in third at 920.  Abilene Christian was 30 shots back in fourth at 930 and Dayton rounded out the top five at 934.

Bradley had its best round of the tournament at 310 to finish six shots back of fifth-place Dayton in sixth (940).  The Braves were 14 shots better than in-state foe Western Illinois, which was seventh at 954.  California (Penn.) followed in eighth at 960, while Wisconsin Lutheran (9th – 972), Morehead State (10th – 974) and Missouri Valley Conference foe Loyola (11th – 975) completed the field, respectively.

Bradley returns to action Feb. 28 playing a duel against I-74 rival Illinois State at the Weibring Golf Club in Normal, Ill.
