HAMMOND, La. - Ariel Dechter and Aimee Manfredo both picked up singles wins, but it was not enough to prevent Southeastern Louisiana (6-2) from earning a 5-2 victory in a women's tennis dual match Monday evening at the SLU Tennis Complex.
Dechter continued to add to her school single-season records for singles and combined wins with a 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 2 singles. Dechter now boasts a 24-7 singles record, including a 12-2 mark at No. 2 during the dual match season, and she pushed her combined singles and doubles record on the season to 39-14.
Manfredo earned a 3-sets victory at No. 3 singles, knocking off Lucia Bustamante 6-1, 5-7, 10-4. Ashley Thai battled Margaux Kaltenbacher in a tight match at No. 4 singles, before falling 7-5, 6-4.
The Braves (8-6) will continue their spring break trip through Louisiana Tuesday with an 11 a.m. dual at Southern, then will wrap the trip with their non-conference finale Wednesday (noon) at New Orleans.
