ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Junior Danielle Lemek (Doniphan, Neb./Doniphan-Trumbull) has been selected as the Missouri Valley Conference Women's Golfer of the Week for the fifth time this season and school-record 15th time in her career according to an announcement by the league office Wednesday.  Lemek shared MVC Golfer of the Week honors this week with Evansville's Kayla Katterhenry.

Lemek finished in the top 20 of an event for the 21st consecutive tournament, claiming individual medalist honors for the second time this year and eighth time in her career by winning the Bearcat Spring Classic in Howey-In-The-Hills, Fla., over the weekend.  After opening the tournament with a 72 at the par-72 Mission Inn Resort's par-72 Los Colinas Golf Course, Lemek followed it up with a 73 Saturday.  Her final round two-over 74 helped her finish at three-over 219 for the three-day event and edge second-place finisher Emily Goldenstein of Memphis by one shot (220). 

Lemek, who now owns a school record 27 consecutive sub-80 rounds, moved into second in school history with 74 career round in the 70's or better.  She also posted her 21st career top-10 finish to tie the Bradley career mark for top-10 finishes held by Bari Erais (2005-09).  Lemek helped Bradley to an 11th-place team finish in the 17-team field which included MVC rival Illinois State (12th) along with 74th-ranked Memphis (Golfweek.com) and four teams from the state of Florida.

The MVC Golfer of the Week selection was Lemek's 15th career weekly honor from the conference office, which ranks second in league history.  She has garnered MVC Golfer of the Week selections following 15 of her 29 regular-season outings. Illinois State's Samantha Richdale won the award a Valley record 17 times between 2002-03 and 2005-06. 

Lemek and the Bradley women's golf team will host the Bradley Invitational April 3 & 4 at WeaverRidge Golf Course.
