PEORIA, Ill. -- Junior runner Caitlin Busch (Waterloo, Ill./Freeburg) has been named the Bradley Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week  after winning the 5,000 meter title at the 2015 MVC Indoor Championship Saturday.

Busch was selected as the MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Week earlier this week and earned Bradley Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week honors for the fourth time in her career.  She won the 5,000 meters title at the 2015 MVC Indoor Championship Saturday night and nearly added another all-conference honor in the 3,000 meters Sunday, finishing fourth in the event.  Caitlin, who was the MVC Cross Country Individual Champion in 2014, edged out her twin sister and defending 5,000 Indoor champ Kristen for top honors in the 5,000 meters by a half second with a time of 16:47.40.  On Sunday, Caitlin posted a career-best time of 9:47.60 to finish fourth in the 3,000 meters.  A health science major, Busch owns a 3.70 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week.  The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Busch and the Bradley men's and women's track & field teams will open the outdoor track season March 27 & 28 at the Vanderbilt Black & Gold in Nashville, Tenn.
