Weekend Softball Promotions Include Free Kids Clinic

PEORIA, Ill. -- The Bradley softball team will host a free post-game clinic Sunday following the series finale against preseason Missouri Valley Conference favorite Wichita State to help highlight promotions for this weekend's three-game series.  The Braves and Shockers will play at noon at Laura Bradley Park with a clinic for all children ages 6-14 in attendance following the Sunday afternoon contest.

The weekend begins with a noon doubleheader Saturday at Laura Bradley Park, which will by Double Play Day.  Bradley students attending the softball game will receive free sunglasses and a meal voucher which can be redeemed at that afternoon's Missouri Valley Conference baseball game between Bradley and Wichita State at Dozer Park (1 p.m.). 

The OLLI shuttle will provide transportation for Bradley students starting at 11 a.m. from the Michel Student Center to Laura Bradley Park and from the softball game to Dozer Park for the baseball game starting at 1:30 p.m.  The meal voucher is good for one free hot dog or nachos and a soda. 

Sunday's promotions include Girl Scout Day at Laura Bradley Park.  In addition, Prairie Farms will provide free ice cream sandwiches following Sunday's contest (first 200) for fans in attendance and the free kids clinic, which is open to all children ages 6-14 and requires no pre-registration, will begin shortly after the conclusion of the noon contest.  Clinic participants are encouraged to bring their own equipment. 

Sunday will also be Bark in the Park with fans encouraged to bring their dogs to the game, while the Tazewell Animal Protective Society (T.A.P.S.) will have animals available for adoption. 

The three-game weekend series against Wichita State opens an eight-game home stand for the Braves, which will wrap up the 2015 home schedule.  Bradley is scheduled to play the final non-conference game of the year Tuesday against Illinois-Chicago at Laura Bradley Park (4 p.m.) and will host I-74 rival Illinois State in a single game April 22 (3 p.m.) before a three-game series against Drake April 25 & 26.
