PEORIA, Ill. - The Bradley women's tennis program will try to carry a strong non-conference showing into its Missouri Valley Conference opener Friday when the Braves (9-7) host Northern Iowa (10-5, 0-1 MVC) in a noon dual at the Clubs at River City.
Following Friday's match against the Panthers, Bradley will host Drake in a 1 p.m. match Saturday on campus at the David Markin Tennis Courts.
Bradley's nine wins equal the program's best single-season total since 1992-93 (14-7). The Braves were led through the non-conference season by a quartet of youthful players. Sophomore Ariel Dechter already has set the single-season record for singles wins by posting a 25-8 singles record to date. Freshman Aimee Manfredo is 21-9 in singles play and already has broken Dechter's 2013-14 record (18-17) for wins by a freshman. Freshman Alexa Brandt is 18-14 overall, while sophomore Ashley Thai is 18-13.
Admission to all Bradley Tennis home matches is free.
