PEORIA, Ill. -- Fifth-year Bradley women's golf head coach Mary Swanson picked up her fourth recruit for 2015-16, with Tuesday's announcement Sydney Shaw (Orchard Park, N.Y./Orchard Park) has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Bradley. 

Shaw has finished in the top 10 at the New York State Junior Amateur each of the last two years, following a 10th-place finish as a sophomore with an eighth-place showing last summer.   In the summer of 2014, she claimed top honors at a two-day Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour event at Osprey Valley Golf Course in Alton, Ontario, in August and also won an International Junior Golf Tour event title at Ridgemont Country Club in Greece, N.Y., last July. 

“Sydney was a multi-sport athlete, but recently began focusing on golf full-time,” said Swanson.  “She has a strong foundation in the fundamentals and with continued experience and work on her short game will make a strong contribution to our program.  We are excited about her talent and her strong commitment to her academics and looking forward to welcoming her to the Bradley Golf family.”

Shaw is the fourth incoming recruit for Swanson and the Bradley women's golf team in 2015-16, joining Chloe Horton (Coral Gables, Fla./Ransom Everglades), Frankie Saban (Orland Park, Ill./Carl Sandburg) and Brooke Thompson (Jefferson City, Mo./Jefferson City) who each signed with the Braves during the Fall signing period.
