LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Freshman outfielder Erika Hansen (Fillmore, Calif./Moorpark) has been named a Third-Team National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Mideast Region selection according to an announcement by the NFCA Thursday.

The fifth player in program history to earn NFCA All-Region honors, Hansen is the first Bradley freshman to earn the distinction.  Last week, she became the first freshman on The Hilltop to earn First-Team All-Missouri Valley Conference recognition since Madeline Lynch-Crumrine in 2011 and just the fifth freshman on The Hilltop to take home first-team all-conference honors. 

Hansen led the MVC with 20 doubles, for the most in the Valley since 1999 and tied for the second most in program history.  She was the first player in league history with 30 runs, 55 hits, 20 doubles, 40 RBI and 30 or more walks in a season.

A three-time MVC Newcomer of the Week selection, she ranks 15th in the nation in doubles per game and her team-high 41 RBI ranks fourth among Bradley season marks.  She was named the MVC Player of the Week on April 6 and finished the year second on the squad with a .369 batting average as she collected hits in each of Bradley's final 14 games. 

Hansen's 59 hits were the second most by a Bradley freshman and she finished her rookie season on The Hilltop with the second-highest walk total (32) in school history.  Her team-best .569 slugging percentage is fourth among Bradley season marks, while her .482 on base percentage ranks second at Bradley behind Bailiegh Basham's school record .532 on base percentage set in 2013. 

The all-region honor gives Bradley three all-region selections in the last five years, with Hansen's award marking the first all-region recognition for the Braves since Lynch-Crumrine was an all-region pick as a sophomore and junior in 2012 and 2013.
