ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- A trio of runners from the Bradley men's track & field teams earned Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete honors according to an announcement by the league office Wednesday.

The sophomore trio of Caleb Beck (Oswego, Ill./Oswego), Daniel Gagne (Wauwatosa, Wis./East) and Thomas Razo (Lockport, Ill./Lockport) combined to help Bradley win the distance medley relay at the 2015 MVC Indoor Track & Field Championship in Cedar Falls, Iowa, back on Feb. 28.  The group clocked a school record time of 10:04.09 to win the event and break the previous school record by nine seconds.

In addition to the school-record DMR, Beck took seventh in the 3,000 meters at the MVC Indoor Championship with a time of 8:26.03 and his season-best time of 8:25.22 ranks fifth in school history.  A civil engineering major, Beck owns a 3.40 cumulative grade point average.

A finance major with a 3.67 cumulative grade point average, Gagne posted the second fastest time in the 1,500 meter prelims at last week's MVC Outdoor Championship and went on to take fifth in the event finals.  His season-best 1,500 meter time of 3:49.23 is third among Bradley career-best marks.

Razo, who is an accounting major with a 3.91 cumulative grade point average, had the top indoor 800 meter time on the squad, with his mark of 1:56.35 ranking as the best by a Brave since 1992 and third at Bradley.

To be eligible for MVC Scholar-Athlete recognition, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore in academic and athletic standing with a minimum 3.20 cumulative GPA and placed in the top eight of an individual event or top three in a relay at either the MVC Indoor or Outdoor Championships.
