PEORIA, Ill. -- Soon-to-be Bradley women's golf freshman Chloe Horton (Coral Gables, Fla./Ransom Everglades) was named Miami Herald All-Dade County Golfer of the Year in addition to earning First Team All-Dade County announced recently at the All-Dade Athletic Awards.
One of four incoming freshman for the Braves in 2015-16, Horton won medalist honors at a Gold Coast Junior Golf Foundation Platinum Tour Event in mid-April at Shula's Golf Club with a four-under two-round total of 140 to win the event by an impressive nine strokes. In March, she took second in another Platinum Tour event at the Country Club of Miami.
As a senior, Horton tied for 26th at the Florida Class 1A state championship, while helping her team to a sixth-place team finish. She qualified for the state championship all four prep seasons and claimed medalist honors at the regional championship as a senior. Horton won the AJGA Stacy Lewis Championship with a three-round total of 216 (71-71-74) last summer and also won individual titles at the Miami Dade Youth Fair and FCWT Jim McLean Signature Course in 2014.
