Weather Update

7:04 p.m. - We are targeting 7:15 for the teams to be able to take the field with the kickoff to happen shortly after 7:45 p.m.

5:57 p.m. - Thunderstorms are rolling through the Peoria area and have forced the postponement of the Bradley-Creighton reserve game.  Tonight's Danny Dahlquist Memorial Game is still scheduled to be played tonight, but the exact kickoff is to be determined and likely delayed.  Check back for more updates.

Bradley will renew an old rivalry when the Braves continue their 3-game preseason schedule Tuesday night by hosting #6 Creighton in the seventh annual Danny Dahlquist Memorial Game at Shea Stadium ... As head coach Jim DeRose prepares for his 20th season with the Braves, he is challenging his youthful team against a stout preseason schedule that includes two opponents from the powerful Big East Conference and two perennial national power programs ... Tuesday's game matches Bradley's 16 freshmen and 22 first- or second-year players against a Creighton squad that returns 30-of-32 goals from its 2014 squad that finished 16-3-3 overall, won the Big East regular-season title and fell in penalty kicks in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Men's Soccer Championship ... The Braves are coming off a 3-3 draw Saturday night at Marquette and will conclude their preseason schedule Saturday at No. 25 Akron.

THE DANNY DAHLQUIST MEMORIAL GAME
The Danny Dahlquist Memorial Game is a tribute to the fallen Bradley Soccer player, Danny Dahlquist, who died Aug. 12, 2007, days before starting his redshirt freshman season with the Braves ... Now in its seventh year, proceeds from the annual exhibition support the Danny Dahlquist Memorial Fund at Bradley University ... The exhibition contest transitioned from a spring game to the fall preseason last year, when the Braves welcomed defending national champion and preseason No. 1 Notre Dame to Shea Stadium and battled the Fighting Irish to a 2-2 draw.

SERIES HISTORY
Creighton leads 25-7-1
Although Tuesday's exhibition game will not count toward the official series standings, the rivalry against Creighton dates back to 1990 and the 33-game history represents the second-most played series (Drake, 36 games) in Bradley Soccer history ... Creighton owns a 25-7-1 lead in the all-time series and the Bluejays have won three straight versus Bradley, all by 1-0 scores, since the Braves swept the 2010 season series ... Bradley and Creighton combined to win 15 of the 20 Missouri Valley Conference regular-season and tournament championships from 2003-12 until the Bluejays departed the league for the Big East ... The two teams met in the championship game of the MVC Tournament five times in an 8-year span from 2000-07 ... In addition to the documented series rivalry, the two teams have faced off in numerous charity spring exhibition matches benefitting cancer awareness and research.
