PEORIA, Ill. -- Senior women's golfer Danielle Lemek (Doniphan, Neb./Doniphan-Trumbull) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week after she helped lead the Bradley women's golf team to a second-place finish at last week's UIC Fall Shootout.
Lemek fired a three-over 75 on Cog Hill's par-72 #3 Course Saturday to tie Kelly Amundrud's (2008-12) school record of 87 career sub-80 rounds. The 75 helped Lemek tie for third in the field as she finished two shots back of individual medalist Hanna Netisingha of Southern Illinois. The top-10 finish was the 25th of Lemek's career. A marketing major, Lemek owns a 3.34 cumulative grade point average.
Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
Lemek and the Bradley women's golf team are back in action Sept. 28 & 29 at the Johnie Imes Invitational in Columbia, Mo.
