PEORIA, Ill. -- Sophomore guard Anneke Schlueter (Ulm, Germany/Max-Weber-Schule) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week after averaging 9.5 points per game in a pair of road contests last week.
Schlueter opened the week with seven points, one rebound, one block and one steal Friday at Southern Illinois. In Sunday's game at Evansville, she had a team-high 12 points and also grabbed two boards. Schlueter hit all three of Bradley's three-point baskets in the two games to extend her streak of consecutive games with a three-pointer to 14. Her streak of consecutive games with a three-pointer is the seventh longest in school history. An international studies major, Schlueter owns a 3.42 cumulative grade point average.
Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
Schlueter and the Bradley women's basketball team will play six of the next eight games at home, starting the stretch Friday with a 7 p.m. home contest against Missouri State.
