NDIANAPOLIS - Bradley University Director of Athletics Dr. Chris Reynolds has been appointed to the newly-formed NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Competition Committee, according to an announcement from the national office Friday afternoon.

According to the NCAA release, the 10-person panel will report directly to the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Oversight Committee and will have regular communication with the NCAA Men's Basketball Rules Committee.  The Division I Men's Basketball Competition Committee will review student-athlete health and safety, sportsmanship and integrity, game operations and presentation, technology and statistical trends.  The group will develop strategic principles in those areas, subject to the approval of the Men's Basketball Oversight Committee.

"Selection to this national committee, whose charge it is to examine a wide range of significant issues impacting NCAA Division 1 Men's Basketball, is exciting in so many ways," said Reynolds. "The game of basketball has given me a great deal, so it is satisfying to be able to give back in this manner."

A former men's basketball player at Indiana University, where he helped the Hoosiers to Big Ten Conference titles in 1991 and 1993, as well as the 1992 Final Four, Reynolds earned his Bachelor of Arts (1993), law degree (1996) and Ph.D. (2012) from Indiana.  Reynolds began his administrative career as an intern at the NCAA national office and took over as Bradley's 10th Director of Athletics March 17, 2015 after holding athletics administration positions at Western Michigan, Notre Dame, Indiana and Northwestern.

Reynolds is joined on the Division I Men's Basketball Competition Committee by college basketball analyst and practicing attorney Jay Bilas; Big Ten Conference Commissioner Jim DeLany; Big East Conference Senior Associate Commissioner Stu Jackson; television analyst Clark Kellogg; Washington State Head Coach Ernie Kent; Southeastern Conference Associate Commissioner of Men's Basketball Dan Leibovitz; Davidson Head Coach Bob McKillop; NBA Executive Vice President for Basketball Operations Kiki Vandeweghe; and current student-athlete Nicholas Norton, a junior guard at UAB.

Judy Rose, the director of athletics at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and Paul Brazeau, the senior associate commissioner for men's basketball operations for the Atlantic Coast Conference, are members of the oversight committee who will serve as liaisons to the competition committee.
