SANTEE, Calif. -- Freshman Drake Bushong (Pekin, Ill./Pekin) earned his fourth top-10 finish of the year and senior Lyle Burns (Mahomet, Ill./Seymour/Parkland) joined him in the top 10 as the duo helped lead the Bradley men's golf team to a third-place team finish at the Carlton Oaks Invitational Tuesday.

Bushong placed in the top 10 for the fourth time in five tournaments and was seventh overall at 224 to lead the Braves in their first outing of the 2016 spring schedule.  He finished up play with a three-over par 75 at the Carlton Oaks Golf Club to extend his streak of consecutive sub-80 rounds to 15. 

Burns matched Bushong for the low round of the day on the team with a third-round 75 to close Tuesday's action tied for ninth overall at 226.  The final-round 75 was his 12th straight round in the 70's or better. 

Junior Bobby Jacobs (Valparaiso, Ind./Valparaiso) earned his first top-20 finish since his freshman year, finishing three shots behind Burns in a tie for 16th at 229 after a final round 76.  Sophomore Matthew Specht (Munster, Ind./Munster) finished one shot short of his second career top-20 as he closed out the tournament with a 75 and tied for 22nd in the field with a three-round score of 232. 

Senior Garrett Cox (Mahomet, Ill./Seymour) completed the team scoring for Bradley in 37th (248), carding a final round 83. 

Seton Hall ran away with the team title by 22 shots, finishing at 879.  Cal State-San Marcos was second overall at 901, while Bradley turned in its best round of the tournament Tuesday (301) to hold on to third at 911.  The Braves were 19 shots better than fourth-place Butler (930) and tournament-host Western Illinois was fifth overall at 943.  Cal State-Dominguez Hills rounded out the field in sixth (944). 

Bradley returns to action Feb. 29 & March 1 at the Houston Baptist Invitational in Houston, Texas.
