IOWA CITY, IA - Iowa (7-2) remained unbeaten at home, withstanding a pair of tight matches in singles for a 7-0 victory against Bradley (7-5) Saturday afternoon at HTRC.
After rolling to a pair of wins at Nos. 1 and 3 doubles to secure the match's first point, Iowa cruised to a 3-0 lead by adding a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles and claiming a win at No. 2 doubles when Bradley's Alejandra de Lasa was forced to retire early in the second set.
Iowa's Aimee Tarun clinched the team decision by taking a 6-1, 6-4 victory against Ashley Thai at No. 5 singles. Zoe Douglas withstood a tough battle from Bradley sophomore Alexa Brandt at No. 3 singles, 7-6 and 6-4, and Anastasia Reimchen completed the sweep by pulling out a 3-set win against Bradley's Ariel Dechter in the No. 1 spot.
Bradley will continue its 7-match road trip next weekend with a pair of matches in Dayton, OH - Friday at Dayton and Saturday at Wright State.
