PEORIA, Ill. -- Senior Kat Yelle (Geneva, Ill./Geneva/Ohio) scored a career-high 16 points on 5-for-6 from the field and grabbed a career-best nine rebounds, but Southern Illinois used a 13-0 second-quarter run to take control as the Salukis handed Bradley a 65-51 loss Sunday at Renaissance Coliseum to end a season-long, four-game home stand for the Braves.

Sophomore Danielle Brewer (Coatesville, Ind.) scored seven of Bradley's first nine points to help the Braves to an early 9-7 advantage.  East Peoria, Ill., native Kylie Giebelhausen knocked down one of her two first-quarter three-pointers for SIU, however, and Cartaesha Macklin scored the final four points of the opening period to help the Salukis to an 18-13 lead heading to the second quarter.

Bradley pulled within three points on a Tamya Sims (Milwaukee, Wis./Oak Creek) layup early in the second period before Southern Illinois answered with a 13-0 run.  The Braves went almost six minutes without a field goal, going 0-for-6 with three turnovers during the SIU spurt which extended the Salukis' lead to 31-15 with just under five minutes to play before halftime.

Yelle scored six points and collected one assist and one steal in the final five minutes of the first half to help Bradley to an 11-4 run and pull within nine at 35-26 at the break.

A 10-3 SIU spurt early in the third quarter pushed the lead back to 15 points (45-30) midway through the stanza and the Braves got no closer than nine points the rest of the way as the Salukis completed the regular-season sweep with the 65-51 road win.

Yelle scored in double figures for the first time since the season opener and was the only Bradley player in double figures with a career-best 16 points on 5-of-6 shooting.  She also had nine rebounds, three assists and one steal.  Junior Leti Lerma (Muscatine, Iowa/Muscatine) matched Yelle for team high honors with nine boards, to go with four points, three assists, one block and two steals in 28 minutes off the bench.

Sims had six points, six rebounds and five blocks in a reserve role as she moved into Bradley's career top 10 in blocked shots.  She entered the contest 11th in school history with 82 career rejections and is now eighth all time on The Hilltop at 87 career blocks.

The Braves shot a season-best 41.7 percent from three-point range (5-for-12), but made just 13-of-43 two-point attempts (30 percent) and shot 33 percent for the game.

Despite the MVC rebounding leader, Dyana Pierre missing the contest due to injury, SIU had a 46-38 rebounding advantage and pulled down 17 offensive boards.  The Salukis had a 13-5 edge in second chance points.  Giebelhausen hit three three-pointers and finished with a team-high 15 points to lead Southern Illinois.  Celina Van Hyfte added 13 points and nine boards off the bench.  Macklin joined the pair in double figures with 12 points, while Kim Nebo pulled down a game-high 15 rebounds to go with her nine points.

Bradley plays five of the final seven regular-season games on the road, opening a two-game road swing Friday with a 7 p.m. game at Wichita State.
