STANFORD, Calif. – Sophomore Michael Ward (Cardiff, South Wales/Llanishen) broke his own school record in the 5,000 meters to wrap up competition at the Stanford Invitational for the Bradley men's track & field team late Friday night.
Ward was seventh in his 5,000 meter heat Friday night, crossing the line at 13:54.49 to beat his previous school record of 13:58.21 set at last year's Stanford Invitational by over three seconds. In addition to posting the top time in the MVC this season, Ward's time of 13:54.49 is the best in the Missouri Valley Conference since 2014.
The Bradley men's track & field team will be in action Saturday at the EIU Big Blue Classic in Charleston, Ill., Saturday afternoon.
