PEORIA, Ill. -- Senior women's golfer Danielle Lemek (Doniphan, Neb./Doniphan-Trumbull) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week after a third-place finish at the 2016 Missouri Valley Conference Women's Golf Championship.
Lemek entered the final round of the MVC Championship in fifth, but turned in the lowest score of the day Tuesday with a two-under 70 to finish third overall at 216. Her final round 70 matched a season-best and her 54-hole score of 216 matched her lowest tournament score of the year. Lemek, who was named the MVC Golfer of the Year for the third consecutive season, became the ninth four-time All-Valley performer in league history. A marketing major, Lemek owns a 3.35 cumulative grade point average.
Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
