CARBONDALE, Ill. – Overnight thunderstorms and steady rain Thursday morning has pushed back the start of the 2016 Missouri Valley Conference Softball Tournament once again.
Fifth-seed Bradley was scheduled to open the tournament with an 11 a.m. opening round game against #8 seed Missouri State Thursday morning, but inclement weather has pushed first pitch for the game back to 5 p.m. The other opening round game between #6 seed Evansville and #7 Illinois State will now start at 7:30 p.m.
With the opening round games pushed back, the second round contests have been moved from their originally scheduled spots Thursday afternoon to Friday. The winner of the game between Bradley and Missouri State will now face tournament-host and #4 seed Southern Illinois Friday at 11 a.m.
