TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Senior Chase Coffey (Hanna City, Ill./Farmington) broke the school record to finish second in the men's steeplechase and fellow senior Eric Delvo (Springfield, Ill./Sacred Heart Griffin) was third in the event with a season-best time to highlight Saturday's action for the Bradley men's and women's track & field teams at the 2016 Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Championship.

Coffey broke Delvo's school mark of 8:50.43 set at the 2014 NCAA West Prelim by three one-hundredths of a second, crossing the line at 8:50.40 to finish second in the field.  Delvo was right behind Coffey in third with a season-best time of 8:53.64 as the pair both earned all-conference honors in the steeplechase for the second time in their careers after Delvo took second and Coffey third at the 2014 MVC Outdoor Championship.

In the women's 800 meter prelims, junior Rachel Sudbury (Tomahawk, Wis./Tomahawk) earned a spot in Sunday afternoon's finals finishing third in her heat and posting the sixth best time in the field at 2:12.70.  Freshman Kathryn Adelman (Naperville, Ill./Geneva) clocked the seventh-best time in the 800 meter prelims at 2:13.87, but was fourth in the fastest head and narrowly missed a spot in the finals.

Freshman David Shadid (Peoria, Ill./Notre Dame) improved on his career-best time in the 400 meters, which ranks second in school history.  He posted a time of 47.76 seconds for the fourth-best time in Saturday's prelims and will move on to Sunday's finals which will be held at 1 p.m. (CST).

Junior Mackenzie Griffin (Petersburg, Ill./PORTA) ran a career-best time of 11:34.21 in the women's steeplechase to finish 12th in the event as she topped her previous person best by 10 seconds.

Senior Elizabeth Dutcher (Williamston, Mich./Williamston) also helped highlight Saturday's action with a career-best leap of 5.44 meters to finish 13th in the long jump.

The Bradley men's team is tied with I-74 rival Illinois State for fifth in the team standings at 18 points, while the Bradley women are sixth overall with 19 points heading into Sunday's competition.

The final day of the 2016 MVC Outdoor Championship will get underway Sunday at 12 p.m. (CST).
