PEORIA, Ill. -- Junior pitcher Jaelen Hull (Clifton, Ill./Bishop McNamara) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week after helping Bradley Softball to a 4-1 record last week.

Hull surrendered just two hits and one unearned run in 5.0 innings vs. Illinois State. Friday in the series opener against Loyola, Hull turned in the most dominating performance of her career, striking out a career-high 12 for the most strikeouts by a Bradley pitcher in seven years and tossed a complete game one-hit shutout in a 1-0 win for the Braves. She capped the week with a near complete game effort Sunday against the Ramblers. She scattered four hits and gave up just one run, while fanning seven and walking just one in 6.2 innings of work. A dietetics major, Hull owns a 3.81 cumulative grade point average.
Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
