PEORIA, Ill. -- Kaitlin Brassil and Becca Elschlager have both been named Assistant Athletic Trainers according to an announcement by Associate Athletic Director for Athletic Training Services
Joe Whitson Wednesday.
Brassil comes to Bradley after spending the past two years as Assistant Athletic Trainer at Upper Iowa University in Fayette, Iowa, where she worked primarily with the men's and women's soccer teams along with the women's tennis program. In addition, she served as an adjunct instructor in the Upper Iowa Athletic Training program.
"Kaitlin brings great experiences with her to further enhance our athletic training staff and the services we provide our student-athletes," Whitson said. "I am excited to bring her onto the staff and she is as equally as excited to join us on The Hilltop."
A 2012 graduate of Millikin University, Brassil earned a master's of science degree in Kinesiology from James Madison in 2014 and served as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer for the women's swimming and diving team.
Brassil was a four-time letterwinner in women's basketball at Millikin and also worked as a student assistant athletic trainer as an undergrad, helping with coverage of football, softball, women's soccer, men's basketball along with the cross country/track & field programs. A native of Homer Glen, Ill., she spent the 2011 WNBA season as an athletic training intern with the Chicago Sky.
Elschlager recently completed a post-graduate internship at Warner University in Lake Wales, Fla., working primarily with women's basketball and women's volleyball. She also taught Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries at Warner University this spring.
"Becca came highly recommended in the athletic training community and will provide outstanding medical care to our women's basketball and women's cross country and track student-athletes," added Whitson. "Becca will bring continued experience and support to our athletic training services"
No stranger to the Midwest, Elschlager graduated from Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo., with a degree in athletic training in May 2013. She spent the 2013-14 and 2014-15 school years as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at William Woods University in Fulton, Mo., completing work towards her master's degree in August 2015.
Elschlager also worked as an Athletic Trainer at Peak Sport and Spine Rehab in Columbia, Mo., for two years, providing athletic training services for area high school and youth programs.
