30TH SEASON OPENER
Bradley will open its 30th NCAA Division I men's soccer season this weekend by visiting Spokane, WA for games Friday at Gonzaga and Sunday against San Diego State ... The Braves enter their 30th season with a 272-271-51 (.501) all-time record ... Bradley had won 13 straight season-openers before dropping a 2-0 decision last year at UIC and the Braves will be trying to avoid consecutive season-opening losses since a four-year drought in the program's first four years of existence from 1987-90 ... As he prepares for his 21st year as Bradley Soccer head coach, Jim DeRose is 18-2-0 all-time in season-openers.

VALLEY'S YOUNGEST ONCE AGAIN
After playing the 2015 season as the fourth-youngest team in NCAA Division I men's soccer, Bradley remains the youngest team in the Missouri Valley Conference in 2016 ... For the second straight year, Bradley's roster features the most freshmen of any team in The Valley ... Half of Bradley's 36-man roster is made up of freshmen - 11 true freshmen and seven redshirt freshman - and 75 percent (27-of-36) of the roster owns no more than one year of experience in the program with one transfer sophomore and eight second-year sophomores in the mix ... Bradley's 18 freshmen are three more than the combined totals of Valley rivals Evansville (7) and Loyola Chicago (8) and one more than the combined totals of Evansville either Central Arkansas (10), Missouri State (10) or SIU Edwardsville (10).

LESCH RETURNS
Among Bradley's three seniors, forward Jason Lesch returns to the lineup in 2016 after sitting out the 2015 campaign as a medical hardship ... Lesch enters the 2016 campaign as Bradley's active leader in games played (63), points (23), goals (7) and assists (9).

KETTERER PRESEASON ALL-MVC KEEPER
Fifth-year senior Logan Ketterer was named the Missouri Valley Conference preseason all-league goalkeeper when The Valley's preseason poll was announced Thursday ... Ketterer, who made five saves in a shutout performance in Wednesday's 1-0 exhibition win against #9 Notre Dame, owns nine shutouts and a .779 saves percentage in the last two seasons for the Braves.

DANNY DAHLQUIST GAME RECAP
at Bradley 1, #9 Notre Dame 0 | Wednesday, Aug. 17 | Peoria, IL (Shea Stadium)
Junior forward Richard Olson netted the game's only goal in the 75th minute, lifting host Bradley to a 1-0 exhibition win versus #9 Notre Dame in the eighth annual Danny Dahlquist Memorial Game Wednesday night at Shea Stadium ... Notre Dame finished the game with a 13-5 edge in shots, but senior goalkeeeper Logan Ketterer made five saves to earn the shutout ... Bradley used 23 players in the exhibition, including eight freshmen, compared to 16 Notre Dame players ... Although an exhibition game, the crowd of 1,821 fans represented the seventh-largest home crowd in Bradley Soccer history.

THE SERIES NOTES
Bradley is 0-1 all-time against Gonzaga, dropping a 2-0 decision Oct. 2, 2015 at Shea Stadium and the Braves are facing San Diego State on the soccer field for the first time in program history ... This weekend's games at Gonzaga and versus San Diego State will be Bradley's first-ever games in the state of Washington.
