PEORIA, Ill. -- Bradley women's golf will hit the halfway point of its 2016 Fall schedule Monday and Tuesday with the Braves taking part in the Missouri Valley Conference Preview at the par-72 Dalhousie Golf Club in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
All 10 Missouri Valley Conference teams are in the 14-team field, which also includes Arkansas State, Austin Peay, Murray State and UMKC. Monday's action tees off at 8 a.m. and will feature two rounds of play, while Tuesday's final round is also slated to get underway at 8 a.m. BradleyBraves.com will provide links to live scoring via Golfstat.
The Braves are coming off a fifth-place finish at the Cardinal Classic in Yorktown, Ind., where Bradley finished ahead of Valley rival Drake. Bradley has faced five MVC teams through three tournaments in 2016-17, with the MVC Preview marking the first time the Braves will play in a tournament with Indiana State, Missouri State, Northern Iowa and Wichita State this fall.
Freshman
Taylor Ledwein (New Prague, Minn./New Prague) tied for seventh to pace the Braves at the Cardinal Classic as she carded the lowest 54-hole score (219) by a Bradley player in 2016-17. Ledwein is one of four Braves to shoot six sub-80 rounds so far this year and owns a 76.14 average and her 219 at the Cardinal Classic is the lowest 54-hole score by a Bradley freshman in program history.
Junior
Ally Scaccia (Arlington Heights, Ill./Prospect) was 11th in the field at the Cardinal Classic and her five career top-10 finishes are the most on the squad. Scaccia is now eighth in school history with 47 career sub-80 rounds. She is second on the squad with a 76.00 stroke average this season.
Sophomore
Chloe Horton (Coral Gables, Fla./Ransom Everglades) owns the top average on the team this season at 75.43 per round. Horton has four rounds of 75 or better on the year and fired a career-best 72 in the second round at the Cardinal Classic.
Fellow sophomores
Frankie Saban (Orland Park, Ill./Carl Sandburg) and
Brooke Thompson (Jefferson City, Mo./Jefferson City) have both been in the Bradley lineup for all seven rounds this fall. Saban was the lone Brave to shoot in the 70's each of the first six rounds this season, while Thompson has already played more than twice as many rounds as she did throughout the entire 2015-16 campaign.
After the MVC Preview, the Braves head to Catawba Island, Ohio, for the Rocket Classic Oct. 10 & 11.
