PEORIA, Ill. -- Senior forward Leti Lerma (Muscatine, Iowa/Muscatine) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week after turning in a double-double in Bradley's MVC opener at Illinois State Sunday.

Lerma collected her team-best fourth double-double of the year with 16 points and 12 rebounds at Illinois State.  She scored 13 of her game-high 16 points in the second half to climb three spots on Bradley's career scoring list into 40th.  Lerma also dished out two assists against the Redbirds.  In seven career outings against Illinois State, Lerma has averaged 9.3 points and 10.7 rebounds per game.  A psychology major, Lerma owns a 3.16 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week.  The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Lerma and the Bradley women's basketball team continue a seven-game road swing Friday with a 6 p.m. (CST) game at Indiana State.
