Leti Lerma Named COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week

PEORIA, Ill. -- Senior forward Leti Lerma (Muscatine, Iowa/Muscatine) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week after turning in a double-double in Bradley's MVC opener at Illinois State Sunday.

Lerma collected her team-best fourth double-double of the year with 16 points and 12 rebounds at Illinois State. She scored 13 of her game-high 16 points in the second half to climb three spots on Bradley's career scoring list into 40^th. Lerma also dished out two assists against the Redbirds. In seven career outings against Illinois State, Lerma has averaged 9.3 points and 10.7 rebounds per game. A psychology major, Lerma owns a 3.16 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Lerma and the Bradley women's basketball team continue a seven-game road swing Friday with a 6 p.m. (CST) game at Indiana State.
