PEORIA, Ill. -- Senior runner Taylor Floyd Mews (Milwaukee, Wis./Wauwatosa West) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week after a second place finish at last week's Bradley "Pink" Classic.

In a field which included six of nine Missouri Valley Conference schools and nine regionally-ranked teams overall, Floyd Mews took second individually to help the Bradley men's cross country team to a second-place team finish.  He posted a season-best 8K tie of 24:34.0, which ranks third in the MVC this season and is the fastest time at the Bradley Classic by a Brave since BU first hosted the meet in 2005.  A computer information systems major, Floyd Mews owns a 3.19 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week.  The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

The Bradley men's cross country team is scheduled to compete Friday at the Illini Classic in Champaign, Ill., before trying for a third consecutive MVC title at the 2017 MVC Cross Country Championships in Springfield, Mo., Saturday, Oct. 28.
