Men’s Golf 15th At Firestone Invite After Day One

AKRON, Ohio – Sophomore Charles Jahn was Bradley's top performer on the opening day of the Firestone Invitational and is tied for 42^nd at six-over par, while the Bradley men's golf team is 15^th in the team standings heading into Tuesday's final round.

Bradley carded rounds of 299 and 303 to finish the day 15^th overall at 602, but the Braves are just seven shots out of the top 10. Furman is 14^th in the team standings at 598, while George Mason, Richmond and Temple all finished the day in a tie for 11^th at 596. Dayton is 10^th overall at 595.

Appearing in Bradley's lineup for the third consecutive tournament, Jahn fired rounds of 77 and 73 Monday at the par-72 Firestone Country Club and is tied for 42^nd overall at six-over 150. He will enter Tuesday's final round four shots out of the top 20.

Junior Zach Jewell followed up a first-round 75 with a 76 in the afternoon to close Monday's action one shot back of Jahn in a tie for 48^th (151). Junior Daniel Lensing is tied for 58^th, one back of Jewell at 152 as he carded rounds of 75 and 77. .

Senior Ethan Brue is also in the hunt for top individual honors on the team at 153, ending the day in a tie for 60^th after rounds of 76 and 77. Junior Drake Bushong had the strongest first round on the squad with a one-over 73. Bushong had a second-round 82 and is 71^st overall at 155.

The final round of the Firestone Invitational is scheduled to get underway Tuesday with tee times starting at 7:30 a.m. (CDT).
