The Bradley cross country team sent two runners to the NCAA Cross Country Championship for the first time in school history with senior Taylor Floyd Mews and sophomore Jake Hoffert each making their debut at the national championship.

Floyd Mews led BU and placed 146th of 254 runners at the national meet, posting his career-best time of 31:06.50 on the 10K course. The senior, who now owns the eighth-best time in school history at the distance, earned his bid to the championship after the best finish in school history at the NCAA Midwest Regional one week ago (sixth).

Hoffert closely followed his teammate and placed 156th overall in 31:12.35. The Missouri Valley Conference Male Cross Country Athlete of the Year, Hoffert was one of four at-large bids nationally at the meet after a season where he became the first Braves individual MVC Champion in 52 years.

"Great effort by both Taylor and Jake," said Bradley head coach Darren Gauson. "When you compete at this level, it is an accomplishment to finish top half of the field. They were a little off where we wanted them to finish but a meet of this caliber, all of the athletes are great. I'm very proud of their seasons and extremely proud of the way Taylor ran as a senior."

Floyd Mews and Hoffert are just the second and third Braves in program history to run at the NCAA Championship.

Overall, the duo anchored the Braves to the their third-straight conference title this season, finishing as the team's top two runners in all but one meet. Floyd Mews finishes his career as a two-time all-conference selection in addition to one honorable mention performance where his 12th-place finish while running sick was key in the Braves lifting the trophy again this year. Hoffert returns and looks to continue the Braves dominance as Bradley returns a number of key runners who redshirted the 2017 season.

Northern Arizona took the team title, while Syracuse's Justyn Knight finish first for the individual crown.
