KANSAS CITY, MO - Bradley Soccer landed two players on the 2017 United Soccer Coaches All-West Region Teams as sophomore forward Roman Schindler (Vienn, Austria) and senior defender Jacob Taylor (Dunlap, IL/Dunlap H.S.) both received third-team recognition, according to a vote of member coaches released this past weekend.

The regional recognition caps an impressive debut season for Schindler, who ended his first season at Bradley as the program's highest scoring newcomer since four-time All-American Gavin Glinton led the 1998 Braves offense.  Schindler paced the 2017 Braves with 19 points and seven goals, while finishing second on the team with five assists.  The points and goal totals for the first-year transfer from Indiana Tech represented the most by any Bradley player since Bryan Gaul led the 2011 Braves with 26 points and 11 goals.  In addition to his all-region selection, Schindler was an honorable mention All-Missouri Valley Conference pick by the league's head coaches after tying four fourth in The Valley in points and tied for fifth in goals.

The region award becomes the fourth postseason honor for Taylor, who started every game of his four-year Bradley career to finish tied for seventh in program history with 77 career starting assignments.  In addition to his work in a backline that helped produce 10 shutouts in 2017, Taylor led the Braves with six assists this past season.  Despite playing primarily on the defensive side throughout his career, Taylor finished with 27 points on seven goals and 13 assists.

The pair of all-region award winners helped Bradley (11-7-3, 4-3-1 MVC) enjoy the most-improved season in program history.  Based on the NCAA formula used to track year-to-year improvements, the Braves joined SMU as the most-improved teams in the country in 2017 with a +8.5 improvement.  Bradley's 10 shutouts equaled the second-best total in program history, while Schindler helped energize an offensive effort that saw the Braves more than double their goal-scoring production.
