LAS VEGAS, NV - Bradley Tennis was shut out on Monday for the first time since the team faced Eastern Illinois on January 28 of this season. The Braves fell in a 7-0 sweep to UNLV in their first of three matches to be played this week in Las Vegas.

The Braves turned in some strong scores, but could not overcome the power of the 45th-ranked Rebels. Sophomore Malini Wijesinghe put pressure on her UNLV opponent, pushing her match to three sets, but ultimately lost 5-7, 6-0, 0-6. Senior Ariel Dechter and junior Aimee Manfredo showed fight as well, turning in scores of 6-3, 6-3 and 6-4, 6-3 respectively.

Bradley's spring break trip continues Tuesday, when the Braves face Rutgers. The dual match will be a family affair, as Hilary Ritchie, head coach of the Scarlet Knights, is the sister of Bradley head coach Matt Tyler. The two will compete for bragging rights when they go head-to-head at 12:00 p.m. (CT).
