PEORIA, Ill. -- Fresh off a convincing 41-shot victory at the Bradley Spring Break Invitational in Farmers Branch, Texas, the Bradley men's golf team will play in consecutive weeks for the first time this spring when the Braves travel to Springfield, Mo., for the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate Monday and Tuesday.
One of four Missouri Valley Conference schools in the 11-team field, Bradley is joined by Valley foes Loyola, tournament-host Missouri State and Northern Iowa along with former conference rival Creighton. The tournament also features Eastern Illinois, SIU Edwardsville, Texas-Rio Grande Valley, Valparaiso, Western Illinois and Wisconsin-Green Bay.
Monday's 36 holes will get underway with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start, while Tuesday's final round will feature tee times starting at 7:40 a.m. at the par-71 Twin Oaks Country Club. BradleyBraves.com will provide links to live scoring for all three rounds.
Bradley has started out the spring by carding two of the 12 lowest 54-hole team scores in school history and four of the team's seven tournaments in 2016-17 have resulted in top-12 scores in program history. The Braves rank fourth in the MVC with a 294.76 average, just one stroke behind third-place Missouri State.
Sophomore
Michael Mounce was named Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Week earlier this week after winning medalist honors at the Bradley Spring Break Invitational. Mounce shot a career-best 71 in all three rounds to win top individual honors by three strokes and pace four Bradley individuals in the top five.
Junior
Ethan Brue fired a pair of 68's at the Bradley Spring Break Invitational and has shot 75 or better in 17 of 21 rounds. His team-best 72.62 stroke average is sixth in the Valley this season. Brue, who owns a team-high six top-10 finishes this season, now has four rounds in the 60's in his first season on The Hilltop, which is two from matching the school season mark of six set by
Lyle Burns in 2014-15.
Sophomore
Drake Bushong matched a season-best 70 in the final round of the Bradley Spring Break Invitational and brings a streak of 21 consecutive sub-80 rounds into the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate. Bushong has moved into 27th in school history with 53 career sub-80 rounds and needs just eight rounds in the 70's or better in the final 13 rounds to post the most sub-80 rounds in a two-year period in school history.
Junior
Zach Jewell tied the lowest round of his Bradley career with a one-under 69 Tuesday and has posted a 74.88 stroke average over his last eight rounds compared to a 76.08 average over his first 13 rounds of the season.
Sophomore
Branden Mounce played in the Bradley Spring Break Invitational as an individual and earned his second top-10 finish of the season. Mounce owns a 74.50 stroke average this spring and a 75.40 average in his last five tournaments.
Following the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate, Bradley will play at the I-74 Individual Challenge in Normal, Ill., on Saturday, March 25.
