Tennis Opens Home Stand Saturday vs Western Michigan

Bradley Tennis will start a 4-match home stand with a 6 p.m. dual Saturday at Clubs at River City

PEORIA, IL - After enjoying the warm weather of Las Vegas for three matches during spring break, the Bradley Women's Tennis team returns to Peoria to host a 4-match home stand, beginning Saturday evening against Western Michigan.

The Braves bring an 8-6 overall record into Saturday's 6 p.m. dual at the Clubs at River City, but the matchup against the Broncos offers another challenge in their quest for a winning season. A traditionally strong program, Western Michigan (5-6) has won all 12 previous meetings in the series, dropping only four total points in those 12 duals and never more than one in a single match.

Admission will be free for Saturday's match at the Clubs at River City.

RECORDS WATCH
Two records of note will be in play for a pair of Bradley players. Junior Aimee Manfredo enters the match against Western Michigan with seven victories this spring at No. 5 Singles. She is just win victory shy of matching the Bradley single-season record for wins in that position, trailing the eight wins at No. 5 by Jessica Buterbaugh in 2006-07 and Teri Chan in 2003-04. Meanwhile, senior doubles specialist Ashley Thai is expected to team with freshman Natalia Barbery in the No. 1 doubles position Saturday. Thai is one win shy of matching Chan for the second-most combined victories (115) in program history, behind senior Ariel Dechter (143).

COLISEUM CLASSIC ON DECK
Following Saturday's match versus Western Michigan, Bradley will continue its home stand by hosting the inaugural Coliseum Classic March 25, facing Saint Louis (9 a.m.) and IUPUI (6 p.m.) on three temporary, modular courts inside Renaissance Coliseum. Coliseum Classic Information
