Frankie Saban fired the low round of the day for Bradley with a three-over par 74 and is tied for fifth overall in the individuals standings with junior
Ally Scaccia as the pair helped the Braves close Saturday's second round of the Cardinal Challenge in a tie for second.
Saban and Scaccia will enter Sunday's final round at the par-71 Beaumont Country Club tied for fifth overall at eight-over 150. The pair is five shots back of individual leader Elodie Chaplet of Lamar, who is at three-over 145. Saban's second-round 74 was two shots better than Friday's opening round 76, while Scaccia matched her first round score with a 75 Saturday.
Bradley entered Saturday's round alone in second and shot 312 to end the day tied with Missouri Valley Conference rival Southern Illinois for second overall at 615. Tournament-host Lamar has opened up a 23-shot lead on the field at 592, while the Braves and Salukis own a seven-shot edge on fourth-place Texas-Rio Grande Valley (622).
MVC rival Indiana State is fifth overall (623), with Cleveland State (6
th – 627), Fairleigh Dickinson (7
th – 628), Detroit (8
th – 646) and Prairie View A&M (9
th – 762) rounding out the field, respectively.
Freshman
Taylor Ledwein is one shot out of the top 20 in a tie for 21
st with junior
Grace Henderson at 158. The duo both had 76's Friday and shot matching 82's Saturday. Sophomore
Chloe Horton rounds out Bradley's lineup and is tied for 32
nd overall at 162, firing an 81 for the second straight round. Fellow sophomore
Brooke Thompson is in the individual as an individual and carded her second-lowest round of the spring with a 78. Thompson is 39
th in the standings at 166.
The final round of the Cardinal Challenge is scheduled to tee off Sunday at 8 a.m.
