PEORIA, Ill. -- The Bradley women's golf team will have its final outing before the Missouri Valley Conference Championship (April 16-18), when the Braves host the Bradley Spring Invitational Saturday and Sunday at WeaverRidge Golf Club.

Bradley will host a spring tournament for the sixth consecutive year and eighth time in the last nine seasons as the Braves welcome other nine teams for the two-day event which will feature 8:30 a.m. shotgun starts at the par-72 WeaverRidge Golf Club both Saturday and Sunday.

The Bradley Spring Invitational will serve as a good tune-up for the MVC Championship, with four other Valley squads joining the Braves in the field in Drake, Indiana State, Loyola and Northern Iowa.  Eight of the 10 teams participating in the event were in last year's field, including all five MVC schools, along with Illinois-Chicago, Western Illinois and Wisconsin-Green Bay.  The two newcomers in the field are South Dakota and Missouri-St. Louis.

BradleyBraves.com will provide links to live scoring for all three rounds via Birdiefire.com

Two of the last three Bradley Spring Invitationals have been shortened to 36 holes due to weather, with Bradley claiming last year's title with a score of 621.

Junior Ally Scaccia (Arlington Heights, Ill./Prospect) has tied for fifth at the Bradley Spring Invitational each of her first two seasons and owns a 77.60 career stroke average on Bradley's home course.  Scaccia, who has a 75.00 average over her last six rounds, has been Bradley's top finisher in each of the last two tournaments after tying for fourth at the Cardinal Challenge in Beaumont, Texas, earlier this month and now has eight career top-10 finishes.  She had 64 career sub-80 rounds and needs three more to pass Meaghan LeBlanc for fifth in school history.

Sophomore Frankie Saban (Orland Park, Ill./Carl Sandburg) was seventh last time out at the Cardinal Challenge and has matched Scaccia's team-best 76.50 stroke average this spring.  Saban has carded 10 of 12 rounds this spring in the 70's and has posted a 75.88 average over her last eight rounds.

Freshman Taylor Ledwein (New Prague, Minn./New Prague) enters the final stretch of the season tied for the team lead with 23 sub-80 rounds, which ranks fourth among Bradley freshman marks.  Ledwein needs two rounds in the 70's to join Danielle Lemek (28) and Christie Lin (26) as the only freshmen in program history to card 25 or more sub-80 rounds.  Ledwein paces the Braves with a 76.29 stroke average, which would rank as the second lowest stroke average for a Bradley freshman.

Junior Grace Henderson (Peachtree Corners, Ga./Blessed Trinity) battled windy conditions at last year's Bradley Spring Invitational to tie for ninth overall.  Henderson, who was Bradley's top finisher at the Rio Verde Invitational earlier this spring, has been over two-and-a-half strokes better this spring than the fall and owns a 78.00 average over her last nine rounds.

Following the Bradley Spring Invitational the Braves will head to Cape Girardeau, Mo., for the MVC Championship April 16-18.
