th in the team standings after 36 holes at the Ryman Hospitality Intercollegiate Monday.
Windy conditions made for a difficult opening day for the Braves, who are 13
th overall at 630. Tournament-host Lipscomb has a one-shot lead at the par-71 Richland Country Club with a six-over 574 Monday, while Ole Miss is second at 575. Bradley is four shots out of a tie for 11
th between George Washington and Samford (626) and 11 back of 10
th-place Omaha (619).
Brue had the low round of the day for the Braves with a two-over 73 to open the day and followed it up with a 79 to finish Monday's action in a tie for 26
th overall at 152. He turned in his 29
th and 30
th sub-80 rounds of the year to become the sixth individual in program history to card 30 or more rounds in the 70's or better in a season.
Sophomore
Michael Mounce extended his streak of consecutive sub-80 rounds to 14 with rounds of 77 and 78. He is three back of Brue in a tie for 38
th at 155 heading into Tuesday's final round.
Fellow sophomore
Drake Bushong had his streak of 29 consecutive sub-80 rounds, which was tied for the fourth longest in program history, snapped after an opening-round 84. He rebounded to shoot a 78 in the afternoon and is now the first player in program history to card 30 or more sub-80 rounds in two different seasons. Bushong is tied junior
Matthew Specht at 162 for 68
th in the field.
Specht shot matching scores of 81 to match Bushong for the day, while fellow junior
Zach Jewell is seven back of the pair in 79
th overall at 169. Jewell turned in rounds of 83 and 86 to round out the team scoring for the Braves.
The final round of the Ryman Hospitality Intercollegiate will tee off Tuesday at 8 a.m.
