Junior Ian Kristan of the baseball team is the Bradley Athlete of the Month, earning the honor after a fan vote for the month of May.

Kristan led the Braves during the season's final month, hitting .393 in eight games with a .469 on-base percentage. He also added five RBI, four runs scored, four doubles and one home run in May.

The junior catcher recorded at least one hit in seven of the eight games during the month, including a three-game streak with multiple hits. Kristan's May highlight came in his final game of the regular season against Southern Illinois, going 3-for-3 versus the Salukis with a homer, double and single along with a walk.

Overall, Kristan started 42 of the Braves' 50 games during the 2017 campaign, hitting .278 with six home runs, 10 doubles, 20 RBI and 18 runs scored.

Kristan earned the Bradley Athlete of the Month accolades after a record-setting fan vote on the school's twitter account. Kristan collected 66 percent of the 1,362 votes to beat out Daniel Gagne of the men's track team (17 percent) and Kirstin Oakley of women's track (17 percent).
