ST. LOUIS - Bradley senior forward
Richard Olson (Park Ridge, IL/Maine South H.S.) has been named to the 11-player Missouri Valley Conference 2017 Men's Soccer preseason all-conference team, according to a vote of The Valley's seven head coaches announced today by the league office.
Olson owns 18 career points on six goals and six assists in his first three seasons, including three goals and one assist in both of the last two season. In addition to netting the game-winner in Bradley's 1-0 win against Fairleigh Dickinson Sept. 2, 2016, Olson also scored the game's lone tally in the 2016 Danny Dahlquist Memorial Game win versus #9 Notre Dame.
An honorable mention All-Missouri Valley Conference selection as a junior in 2016, Olson also was named to the 2016 MVC All-Tournament Team, the third all-tournament team selection of his career. Olson also was named to the tourney team at the 2014 Evansville Aces ProRehab Classic, as well as the 2015 Utah Valley Holiday Inn Express Invitational.

With Tuesday's Danny Dahlquist Memorial Game in the books, Bradley will open the 2017 regular season by participating in the HBU Invitational Aug. 25-27. The Braves will face UT Rio Grande Valley in the tourney's 5 p.m. opener Aug. 25, then will challenge tournament host Houston Baptist Aug. 27 (3 p.m.) in Houston. Bradley will face Northern Illinois (Sept. 1) and Milwaukee (Sept. 3) at Evansville's ProRehab Aces Soccer Classic, before opening the home schedule Sept. 8 against Incarnate Word at Shea Stadium.
