Two Braves Clock Top-Five Times at Indiana

Bloomington, Ind. – Two Braves posted top-five times in school history to lead Bradley at day one of the Gladstein Invitational on Friday night.

Senior Taylor Floyd Mews won the mile run at Indiana, clocking a time of 4:04.89. Floyd Mews' mark improved his PR set just last weekend by nearly eight seconds, while posting the second-fastest time in school history – only Michael Ward's record of 4:02.86 in 2016 was better. The senior's time also represents the best in the Valley this season and the 13th-best mark nationally.

Senior Hannah Witczak highlighted the day for the BU women, posting a time of 9:53.35 in the 3,000m run. Witczak's time is more than eight seconds better than any other runner in the MVC this season, topping her previous PR by more than two seconds and recording the fifth-best time in BU history.

Freshman Ben Wagoner claimed his first collegiate individual title on Friday, taking the 5,000m run in his first career attempt at the event. The rookie ran a time of 15:03.98, which also ranks 10th in school history.

Junior David Shadid placed second in the 400m fast section. At the site where he set the school's record one year ago, Shadid posted a time of 48.80 and just missed his PR by 0.28 seconds.

Following Floyd Mews in the mile, senior Daniel Gagne placed second with a time of 4:06.78, just missing his career best by less than a second, while Michael Ward was fourth at 4:09.02.

On the women's side, Latasha Ellis clocked a time of 8.16 in the 60m dash, tying the sixth-fastest time in the BU record book.

Additional highlights include Brooke Nusser placing second in her mile heat with a time of 5:01.26, while Natalie Burant was fourth in the 5,000m run with a mark of 17:47.77.

The Braves wrap up the Gladstein Invitational tomorrow morning with a 9:30 a.m. CT start time.
