The Bradley cross country teams are back in action on Friday, hosting their second meet of the season at the Ideal Rentals Bradley Pink Classic. The meat features a total of 40 Division I programs, including 26 regionally-ranked teams in the latest USTFCCCA polls.

MEET INFO
The Ideal Rentals Bradley Pink Classic features five races, starting at 1 p.m. at Newman Golf Course. The women's college division race opens the meet before the men's college competition begins at 1:45 p.m. and an open race follows at 2:30.

The Braves are slated to compete in the women's 6K red race at 3:15 p.m. with the men's 8K red race slated for 4 p.m. The women's race features 40 Division I schools, including 13 that are regionally ranked, while the men square off against an additional 33 Division I programs – 13 that are ranked in their respective region.

2017 PINK CLASSIC RECAP
Last season, Iowa and South Dakota claimed team titles at the Bradley Pink Classic. The Hawkeyes edged the Braves in the men's race 84 points (to 98 points for Bradley) with Nebraska, Marquette and Kansas State rounding out the top five. The Bradley women the placed third in their race with 152 points with South Dakota (105) and Marquette (152) finishing 1-2.

MVC PREVIEW
Friday's meet will also give fans an early preview of the 2018 Missouri Valley Conference Championship, which Bradley also hosts at Newman Golf Course on Oct. 27. Eight of the 10 Valley schools on the women's side are competing on Friday, while seven of the nine men's programs are also running at the Pink Classic – only Evansville and Indiana State are not running in Peoria for the Pink Classic.

Last season, Bradley finished as the top Valley school during both races and used that momentum to sweep the Missouri Valley Conference Championship for the second time in three seasons. Note that while the women's race on Friday is a 6K, the championship in two weeks will run as a 5K.

LAST TIME OUT
The Braves ran at the highly-competitive Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational two weeks ago with a number of BU runners setting PRs.

Haran Dunderdale led the Bradley men with a time of 24:26.7 – nearly 29 seconds off his previous career-best and the seventh-best time in school history. Meanwhile, Abby Jockisch led the Braves women with a 6K time of 21:18.0 – nearly 23 second better than her previous PR.

UP NEXT
The Braves will send a small contingent of runners to the Illini Open next Friday before the MVC Championship in two weeks. The conference title is back on the line on Saturday, Oct. 27 at Newman Golf Course.
